Saving List Views

Filter and save list views with the Settings panel on Contacts, Jobs, Appointments, Quotes, and other lists. Sort from column headers.

2 min read

Save filters, sort, and columns on a list so you can reopen the same view later. Views are shared with everyone in your business.

Open a list and the Settings panel

  1. In the sidebar, open a list that supports views — Contacts, Companies, Properties, Jobs, Appointments, Quotes, Invoices, or Parts.
  2. Under the page title, tabs start with All plus the object name (for example All Contacts). Saved views appear as more tabs.
  3. Click the gear control labeled View settings. The right panel is titled Settings.

Edit filters and columns

  1. Under Filters, click Add filter. Pick a field, an operator, and a value when the operator needs one.
  2. Sort from a table column header. The saved view keeps that sort when you reopen it.
  3. On a Table, use Columns to show, hide, and drag column order. Boards and the appointments Calendar skip the Columns section — filters still apply in Settings; sort stays whatever the view already saved.

Switch display mode with Table, Board, or Calendar when that object offers them. Saving a view keeps the mode you are on.

Save, update, or discard

  1. Click Save as New View, enter a Name, then Save View.
  2. On an existing saved tab, change the panel and click Update View when it appears.
  3. To throw away unsaved edits, click Discard Changes.
  4. Rename or delete a saved view from the View section in the panel (pencil and trash). Deleting a view does not delete records.

Good to know

  • Column layout you change on a table can also follow you personally; the saved view itself is business-wide.
  • Bolt can show a matching list card in chat — use Save view there if you want a tab on the page.
