Create a quote for a customer, add the work, and send a link they can view and accept.
Create the quote
- Go to Quotes and click Create Quote.
- Under Who is this quote for?, search for a contact or add a new one. An email is required to send.
- Choose or add a property for the contact.
- If open jobs exist, optionally pick a Job, or use Create Job.
- If QuoteBolt finds matching drafts or sent quotes, you can Edit draft, Revise Quote, or Create Quote Anyway.
- If you have more than one template, pick a Template.
- Click Create Quote. QuoteBolt creates a draft and opens the editor. Use Cancel to dismiss the sheet without creating.
Add the work
In the editor, add line items for the job — from your catalog or as custom lines. A default tax rate can live under Settings, then Account (Default Tax Rate %); you can also set tax on the quote.
For building quotes with blocks, see Editing quote line items.
Send it
- On the draft quote, click Send.
- Confirm in the Send quote? dialog. The customer gets a link to view and accept the quote.
- After the quote is sent, viewed, or declined, the primary action becomes Resend.
Status moves from Draft to Sent, then Viewed when the customer opens it.
What happens next
- Convert a quote to an invoice
- Using Bolt to draft quotes with the assistant
Good to know
- The contact needs an email before you can send.
- If a similar quote already exists, use Edit draft, Revise Quote, or Create Quote Anyway.
- You can also start a quote with Bolt on Home or the companion panel, then review before it saves.
